Weighted Grade Calculator
Calculate your current course grade from weighted categories like exams, homework and labs. Try upcoming scores, handle dropped quizzes and missing work, and plan toward a target.
Your calculator is getting ready.
It runs separately so your grades stay away from advertising. If it doesn’t appear, open it directly.
Open the calculatorSee where you stand. Plan what’s next.
Multiply each category percentage by its course weight. Add the contributions, then divide by the sum of weights of categories with graded work.
Worked example
If assignments are worth 40% and your average is 90%, while exams are worth 60% and your average is 80%, your weighted grade is (90 × 40 + 80 × 60) ÷ 100 = 84%.
How to use the weighted grade calculator
Add your categories and weights
Copy them from the syllabus: for example Exams 50%, Quizzes 20%, Homework 30%. Guided setup can read a pasted grading section.
Enter each assignment’s points
Type what you earned and what was possible, like 18 out of 20. Leave future work as “Not graded yet”.
Set grading rules if your course has them
Dropped lowest quiz, protected assignments, category caps and extra credit are explicit settings.
Read your grade so far, then plan
Compare lower, likely and higher upcoming scores side by side. Your actual grades stay untouched.
How weighted categories work
A course can assign different importance to quizzes, assignments, labs and exams. Points are first added within each category. The category percentage is then multiplied by its share of the course. Enter the weights from your syllabus; do not assume that every category counts equally.
Why a current grade can change
The current grade excludes categories without graded work and normalizes the active weights. A 90% current grade in one active category does not mean that 90% of your final course result is secured. New graded work can change the category average and activate another category.
Plan with complete information
For a final projection, enter all assignments, mark future work as ungraded, and confirm that the plan is complete. The scenario view then applies the assumed scores, recomputes drops and applies category caps before weighting.
